Canon Pixma MP830 Driver Download - MP830 is ideal for small offices one or two people. In fact, the only thing keeping it from being a good choice to share the workload in larger offices is the lack of a network connection. Even so, the MP830 handle photo good enough to double as a home printer. In addition to operating as a printer, scanner, and standalone copier, the Pixma MP830 offers office-oriented features such as the 35-page automatic document feeder (ADF) for processing multipage documents, a built-in fax modem that allows running as a standalone fax machine, and two input trays to hold two different kinds of paper at once (maximum of 300 sheets). Canon's bundled software also allows you to fax directly from your PC. MP830 can print and scan both sides of a page. Even gives you the option to copy from the original two-sided to two-sided copies, of the original double-sided copies of one side, and from one side of a two-sided original to the copy-rare find, especially in ink jet. Interestingly, MP830 also will let you scan one or both sides to e-mail, automatically opens a new message for you and include the scanned document as an attachment. Unfortunately, it will not scan both sides of the original for a standalone fax. As a workaround, you can scan a document to disk and then fax from your PC in a separate step. As icing on the cake, the MP830 has a lot of consumer-friendly features such as PictBridge connector, to print directly from PictBridge-enabled cameras, and card slot paired with a 2.5-inch LCD, which allows you to print from a memory card and use the LCD to preview.
Setup is easy. My first reaction, even before I opened the box, shocked at how heavy MP830 this- 32.3 pounds. It is also on the large side, with 19.7- by 19.2-inch trail. Thanks to the relatively low (11.5 inches) in height, though, I do not feel like it looming me when I sat down at my desk. Like most Canon printers and AIOs, MP830 comes with a single printhead and ink cartridges for each color separately (five cartridges in this case, including a dye-based black for photos and a pigment-based black for text). All you have to do is plug in the power cord, snap in the printhead and cartridges, and paper. Then connect the USB cable and run the installation software automatically. Canon Pixma MP830 is, quite simply, the fastest ink jet AIO I have not seen. Its total time of 12 minutes, 10 seconds of our business applications suite (his time with QualityLogic's hardware and software) slashes more than two minutes from the previous record of 14:14 is achieved by Canon Pixma MP950 Photo All-In-One. MP830 is also the fastest ink jet AIO I have not measured to print photos, an average of 46 seconds for each 4-by-6 snapshots and 1:46 for each 8-by-10 prints. In addition, all of our test photos qualified as true photo quality and highly water-resistant as well. Graphics are easily good enough for internal business use, but as with many ink jets, you need to avoid printing thin lines, which tend to disappear. And if you are printing on plain paper, avoid graphics that cover pages filled with ink; inks tend to make plain paper, like the kind we use in testing, curl. Text quality is a bit of a mixed bag. Using a highly stylized font test with thick strokes, the letters tend to merge even at 12 points, but for the font you're more likely to be used in an office setting, the quality is among the best I've seen from the ink jet. More than half of our test fonts were easily readable at 5 points, with some readable even on small 4 points. With a combination of speed, output quality, and features, the Canon Pixma MP830 is not only easy to recommend, the winner of Editor's Choice a clear 'as a personal AIO top-of-the-line.
